Enclosed, please find a function key template for CorelDRAW 4.0
and a Windows Recorder file that I find very useful when running
the program.
CDTEMPL.PCL is a printer file for an HP Laserjet. Simply copy this
file to your printer (e.g. at the C-prompt, type Copy yourpath\CDTEMPL.PCL LPT1:). It
prints out two pages, one showing Corel's definitions for the F-keys,
the other showing the keys I set up with recorder and a few of Corel's
less mnemonic hot-keys that I can never remember. Note that all of the
shift-control, alt and control-alt key combinations can only be used
if you are running my Recorder file. I tried to group them together
logically. For instance, Corel defines Control-A to call up the align
menu, so I made Shift-Control-A to equal align center and Control-Alt-A
to center in page.
CDTEMPL.SAM is the AmiPro file I used to create the above template.
CORELDRW.REC is the recorder file that includes my redefinitions. I
have created an icon specifically for this recorder file so I can
click on it anytime before or after I have started CorelDRAW!
For those who don't know how to do this, it is simple. Make the window
you want the new icon to appear in your active window. Go to the
"File" menu from Windows and choose "NEW". Choose "New Item" from
the next window and where it asks for "Command Line" type in
your path and the filename for CORELDRW.REC. For instance, if you put
the file in your Windows Subdirectory, type in "C:\WINDOWS\CORELDRW.REC"
This procedure should create a new copy of the Recorder icon with the word
"Coreldrw" underneath. Clicking this icon automatically loads recorder and
the key definition file. Since I use Norton Desktop for Windows, I can load
programs through on icon with a simply Norton Batch file. I don't know if this
is possible from Windows Program Manager.
If you have suggestions, corrections or whatever, I can be reached on
CompuServe at 70743,3111. Feel free to modify or distribute these files
anywhere though I'd appreciate it if you kept my name there somewhere.
